Works on Linux. A “must-have” for researchers.

It’s a must-buy for every academician during these lockdown times.

I use it mainly on shared online whiteboards for discussing academic-related stuff with my advisors and fellow researchers.

I use it on Arch Linux. It is super easy to get it working on Linux. Just plug and play. A very famous open-source driver for Wacom tablets will already be installed as a kernel module in most of the recent Linux distros. If not, you can easily install it.

There is no noticeable latency. The pressure-sensing works great! Pressing harder gives you thicker lines.

If you want to do digital art on Linux, use Inkscape. If you just want a whiteboard (virtual), use OpenBoard. Both of them are very good.

The writing area is quite sufficient. I don’t think a larger one would have made much of a difference in the overall experience. In most cases, the small one will do the job.

For people who never heard of this company: Wacom is a Japan-based company that makes quality stuff. One of the top companies which makes pen tabs. You can buy it without worrying about the quality.

It’s hard to set up, but the product is useful

so, I just bought this, and I’m so unable to install its driver, errors everywhere, its software does not detect my tablet in pc.

EDIT: got this installed and working on my pc, had to update my win 7, now it draws things fine, it was a bit hard for me to draw anything first day, will definitely need more time to get my fingers used to it. attaching couple of images I drew with this

Excellent product for the price.

It’s a low end drawing tablet – it has no display or screen – the surface can be used to indicate positions on the display of the system to which you have it connected via USB cable (usually PC or laptop screen)

It’s a good product. The packaging was excellent. Delivery good. All products part of the kit (tablet + pen + replacement nibs + nib-replacer + warranty card + manual) where there and intact. I had purchased the Red version of CTL-472. Has 2 sets of packaging as part of the product ( excluding amazon packaging). Outer pull through red cover, and inner box cover inside which the tablet and other paraphernalia are cased). Pls, note the package boxes are made of cardboard. Store the entire system in a moist and humidity-free environment.

Utility – Its purpose is for use as a drawing tablet and hence should allow you to create good drawings or images.
But technically / practically that depends on your experience with using any drawing tablets if any at all if you have used other tablets of Wacom etc.
1: Basically it’s a small device. The area available for use on the board is actually less. Do check the images- the area corresponding to the dotted region is only available for any practical use. The rest despite being part of the drawing board cannot be used.

2: Due to the same reasons as above it works more in the direction of a pointing device (mouse) and is suitable for drawing lines and simple figures. Added to it is that it doesn’t have a screen or display of any sort. You should be looking at your computer screen while making the drawings

3: It’s more suitable for use as a mouse/ freehand document annotation (which is difficult with a mouse) , playing some games (difficult with normal mouses), creating moderate MOOC course material etc.

4: Surely you can use it for creating drawings, images, animated characters etc, and use them for video creation, editing, visual effects, etc. But as a tool. It has no specific software that can help you achieve these things. If you really want a drawing board for creating stunning images better prefer Wacom Cintique – it’s expensive but worth it.

Final Note:
For this price, this is what we will get and it’s good. Good for beginners and those who can work without display-based-drawing tablets

Great for beginners

If you’re a beginner and just getting into digital art then this tablet is a great place to start off. The surface is really smooth and doesn’t scratch easily (though there’ll be some scratches over time). The pen works great too and has two customizable buttons that can be pretty handy. The pen is also really lightweight, similar to a wooden pencil that might be good or bad according to your own preference. My main concern was the size and that it might be too small to get used to but that’s far from it, and it was really easy to get used to within 2-3 days.
The USB cable provided with it was a bit short so if you’re hooking it up with a desktop that’s a bit farther then I’ll recommend getting a longer cable.

Superb for online teaching.

very much satisfied with the shipping and the product. I’m using it for online teaching. looks small but u can write on the entire screen. if it’s only fr teaching this size is more than enough.

installing driver software and registering the product was very very easy. had no issues.
teaches can go for it, no doubt.

Buy, if you have an urgent requirements or you are desperate to try

I purchased this thinking I would write e-notes with it, it’s working but the feel isn’t there. I mean the feeling of writing with one is not what you get with this. The pen is too big width-wise. I have forcefully loved this because I want to take notes. As days passed I realized that this is for kids. No disrespect but this will not help you write or let alone draw. I am doomed as the return period of this product is over.

A Chinese product

Good Pen Tablet for beginners and for teaching online on any online platform. But it’s a Chinese product, and a bit costly too. Don’t purchase it for more than 3000 rs. Vendors are earning more than 50% on this product.

Edit:
Warranty Services are really pathetic. They don’t have any service center. For warranty we have to mail them, then they are not responding at all. Worst ever post-sale warranty Services I have ever seen.

Do not buy, useless products!

0) You can not return this product can only replace it in case of a problem with the product!
1) Extremely tiny tablet. Practically you can’t use it for any purpose.
2) They don’t give any app with this useless product so you have to find a suitable app for your computer. It may
not work on many systems.
3) Extremely inconvenient setup process, the driver link in their website was not working on my mac. No manual is given so you have to look for YouTube video instructions.

Complete waste of Money!!

Negative Review 5

Good for just scribbling annotations. Not good for artists/illustrators

PROS

1. Compact, easy to carry even in a small bag.
2. Hovering distance is good enough.
3. Stylus is comfortable to hold and also has buttons that give the functionality to be used as a mouse
4. Looks good
5. Good for screen annotation or making funny pranks during online class!

CONS

1. It is not the same as drawing on paper. There is no lag, however, no matter how hard you try the result on screen is not as per your expectations.
My handwriting is poor. I was not expecting it to match with that of a calligrapher’s…but on screen using this product my handwriting becomes worse 🙁
As an educator, I expected that I could draw a few images but I am better off drawing on paper and scanning it.
2. The tablet has a functional area smaller than the tablet itself. I don’t like it! Was it Technologically an Impossible task to have a full functional area??
