Best Choice
I Used this Router for 30 days, Really worth buying, easy Configuration & compatible with All ISP.
I could have given 5 stars since the Coverage is really low, so I have given 4 Stars.
If you have Wall, you will be getting only 2 or 3 signals. if you are happy with that, you can go for that.
Except for the range issue, this is the best N300 series router to start with.
Don’t think about NetGear, it is really a piece of Junk, Netgear has to learn a lot from TP-Link.

Unbiased Router Review
Okay, so… my review of this router is going to be based upon what I used to use, the “Belkin wireless g router” and what I expected of this router in terms of the price difference and its competitors which fall within the same league (n-300 routers)
Pros –
– If you are a nut for specs, yes it’s got all the bells and whistles like the dual 5dbi antennae’s, a good amount of RAM, and all that kind of stuff.
– The Stock firmware has a lot to offer.
It- Super easy to set up.
– A good-looking, somewhat compact router.
– DD-WRT firmware support
– Physical Power AND wifi switch. Yes, a WIFI switch means you can switch off your WIFI alone while letting the router run and manage the physical Lan connection. two stars for that.
Cons –
– Contrary to the first point as given in the pros. I haven’t really seen any great improvement with wireless coverage.
That being said, I’m quite disappointed because I was expecting this router to have really good coverage. And to be honest, I’m saying no improvement over the Belkin wireless G router(A entry-level router).
– The notification lights are cumbersome, I need to get my face all the way right on top of it to coordinate the light indicator with its corresponding indicator(Wifi, Lan, or wtr)
To Conclude
This router, yes it’s cheaper than what you can find for most of the other N 300 rated routers which come from companies like Belkin and of its sort. It’s got that nice specification chart, which will matter only to where it counts.
The Wifi range was a total put-off for me, and its other specification-related stuff could be considered as “future-proofing” (in case you’re planning to have a lot of devices connected to it someday.)
This router will be a winner for you especially if you have a lot of devices connected to it, sharing loads of data within the network. We’re talking of something in the range above 200 Mb/s. Or even if you’re a gamer and you like to have your friends over to have a Co-op among-st yourselves, it will comfortably take the task without any glitches because it’s got such a wide bandwidth.
As this router, in my experience doesn’t give any significant boost of any kind with respect to the WIFI coverage. I didn’t have to transfer huge lumps of data within my local network. This router was not for me. (I expected it to have good wifi coverage)
And if you fall in the same criteria, I can as sure as hell tell you that you’d be fine with the N 150.
But yes, if you have a lot of devices(Printers, Consoles, PC, smartphones, etc) that will be connected and will require to both use the internet and simultaneously share loads of data within your home network. This will do you good. Especially for the price.

Excellent Router with DD-WRT Support
Excellent service and great buying experience from Flipkart.
I bought this router specifically to install and run the DD-WRT firmware and will focus on that aspect in my review.
This model is TL-WR841N v7.2 and is compatible with DD-WRT (the model on the DD-WRT website you need to look for TL-WR841ND v7.0; the “D” suffix just means the antennas are detachable in that variant and hardware-wise there is no difference between v7.0 and v7.2)
While multiple firmware options are available for Broadcom chipsets, this particular router is based on an Atheros chipset and variety is limited. But the available variety is feature-packed and a lot of documentation is available in the Wiki & Forums.
If you want to install DD-WRT, just make sure you read through the instructions very carefully before you start the process. I just followed the instructions there and got the firmware working on the first try. Currently configured it as a WiFi repeater and everything works satisfactorily.
Considering the price I paid, this is an excellent device once you have DD-WRT installed. I have features that even routers from Linksys & Netgear don’t have on their stock consumer routers.

More Range – More connected devices
Okay, to start the review, I have been using a Netgear N150 router for the last 4 years, and this time I needed a new router since devices were increasing in my house (Google Chromecast, Google Home, Laptops and mobiles). My Netgear router was not able to cover even a 2-BHK and when a lot of devices were connecting at the same time, the Chromecast and google home stops working which was such a pain when one person wants to listen to music or to stream videos on TV.
So, I finally decided and after reading a lot of reviews of different products zeroed on to this product – TP-LINK TL-WR940N Wireless-N450 Home Router (Mentioning full name since it seems amazon mixes all the reviews of different products of one brand into one list).
Pros –
1- The wifi range is good and comfortably covers my 2 BHK house, even after going some more distance away from home(around 20 meters) I get the range.
2- Able to connect multiple devices (MIMO tech works) (including Chromecast, google home) without interruptions.
3- Can easily use this router as a wifi range extender as well. A big plus for big homes.
4- T Plink app works fine with the router and you can easily customize settings there.
5- A RJ-45 cable comes inside the box, helps to connect my ACT broadband connection to the laptop when there is no power.
Cons-
- I got used to multiple lights on my Netgear router, but his one has just single light. Turns blue if the wifi connection is working fine and turns yellow if the ISP connection breaks. Not a big concern. Just need to get used to it.

Decent enough for home use
I use the router in the first-floor living room and a repeater on the ground floor. However I can still connect to the router anywhere in the house (ground, first, second, terrace floors), since it is a triplex home with stairs from inside (hence able to get the signal still). This is ideal for a 1200 sqft living area and a range of 30 meters easily. Never faced any issues.

Not as shown… Great buy if u got the Original product.
This is not 300Mbps, it is 150Mbps only. I think the seller has both Original and fake products. First ordered TP-LINK TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router for me and the response was good as usual got the product in my hand two days before the expected delivery date. I started using TP-LINK TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router and felt that the range it covers was less, I thought that the quality is that it and we can’t expect more from this product. Later my uncle asked me for a Router and again I booked the same TP-LINK TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router, after getting this I found some differences between both Routers
Same product, same seller, same price but products do not look like somehow????
TP-LINK TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router which I got for my uncle was amazing; the range it covers was excellent.
The product which I got is not as shown. In the picture, there are 9 indication lights but in the product I got there were only 8 available (A indicator light placed between Power & W-Lan was missing in mine.)

Horrible Product
Well, I am writing this review after buying & using it after 2-3 months !! Good delivery by Flipkart. Now coming to the product.
It got installed in an easy way & I was using it conveniently for a month or so, after which the problem started. The pack does not contain India Helpline no.s So I had to search the net.
The router stopped working suddenly one fine day but all the lights are glowing. I connected the internet wire directly to my laptop & the net was working fine. I called up TPLINK Helpline, seriously if u guys are lucky some1 may pick up. so the probability is 1/50.
I called up thrice 3 guys gave me 3 different solutions out of which none worked.
I finally replaced the router with a new one by going to their service centre.
And to my utter disbelief, the brand new router also did not work.
It is not able to detect my WAN wire.
Guys DON’T BUY TP-LINK PRODUCTS.

Genuine advise. Don’t buy TP-Link product
When I purchased it 6 months back, I preferred this modem over NetGear/DLink because there is a big pricing difference. I was happy with a modem for 6 months but suddenly it stopped working and I regret my decision to buy tp-link over NetGear/DLink.
I sent an email to TP-Link’s tech team. They are very responsive but the only response I got is that if it is under warranty then get it replaced. I tried calling their customer support tons of times but no one picks up the call. Somehow I got their distributor’s number and they said there are multiple distributors in Bangalore and they won’t support this.
I contacted Flipkart and got some numbers for tp-link support and none of them helped. So my Genuine advice to all is not to purchase TP-Link products. It can work well as long as you don’t need service but their service is super bad. I am going to skip purchasing any tp-link product in the future.

Mostly router decreases speed from 50Mbps to 5Mb during usage, Also Wifi SSID shows No Internet
I am disappointed with this router on basis of the below points:-
- Mostly router decreases speed from 50Mbps to 5Mb during usage. But if re-plug the network on the WAN port, the speed comes to 50Mbps.
- Also, Wifi SSID shows No Internet, but after connecting the network to the laptop directly, the Internet works fine with 50mbps speed.
- The coverage area is also less despite having 3 external antennas

Disconnect from Internet connection automatically
After 1 day of purchase the router, TL-WR940N started to show internet disconnected from every 10 to 15 minutes. We had to restart the router to start connecting again. Maybe the issue occurs when the router heats up, tried updating the firmware to the latest version also set a different channel (6) to wireless settings and Network Wan connection mode to manual. No effect same issue. The product is faulty, recommended not to buy.
