Light Flow Pro – LED Control
by Reactle Tools
Light flow allows you to take control of the notifications on your device.
It’s main features are:
– Controlling the notification LED for phones that have them (cycling colors through outstanding notifications)
– Sound control, including repeating sounds
– Vibration control, including custom vibration patterns and repeating vibrations
– Android wear vibration support
– Sleep times
– Lock screen based notifications (on phones that support live wallpapers on lock screens)
– Contact specific notifications for certain notification types
If you’ve come from a Blackberry device and miss the features of BeBuzz / BerryBuzz then give LightFlow a try!
This app will allow you to control the notification color for the over 600 applications and system events such as:
* Missed calls
* Voice mail
* Calendar reminders
* SMS messages
* MMS messages
* Low battery
* No signal
* Google talk
…and many many more
See our website for a full list of applications supported:
It allows the colors to flash in succession, so if you have a new SMS and a missed call it can alternate between the two colors. You can also set which notification type has the highest priority and let it flash in just that one color.
It’ll even push notifications out to your pebble smart watch, Sony smart Watch and the DashClock lock screen extension.

Samsung phones when accessibility is enabled may cause the phone to start talking, warnings about air view and a few other issues. These are confirmed samsung bugs (see here: http://developer.samsung.com/forum/board/thread/view.do?boardName=GeneralB&messageId=204387) but the app can be run without the accessibility service and still work (but with a reduced notification list)
Not all phones support all colors.
For example: Most HTC phones only support 3 colors and require “Rooting” and running the app in “direct mode”
Some phones can only light up the notification while the screen is off.
Some phones cannot have their notification light always on
Some phones cannot have their notification blink and it will always be on
Note that it will take over control of your notifications and you will therefore only get notifications for categories that the app allows.
★ We recommend you try the “lite” version first before purchasing to avoid any disappointment if it doesn’t work for you. Some phones require root privileges to access the LEDs. ★
★ If after updating you have problems we recommend you reboot your phone ★
** Most HTC phones require “direct mode” setting. Most gingerbread builds for HTC phones require root access due to HTC changing the permissions on the LED control files. **
** If upgrading from the “lite” version, please uninstall the lite version first but you can backup and restore settings between versions **

-This has been a favorite app of mine for years. Works great. The only frustrating thing with the Android O update is that it now shows up in 2 persistent notifications in the drop down panel. Not the app’s fault but it’s starting to take up a lot of notification real estate. Hopefully Android O or the app allows a workaround.
-The app is great, and infinitely customizable. I do notice an issue on my nexus 5X where the app plays the default notification sound under the customized notification sound. You simply turn off the default notification in settings to correct, but I didn’t know if this was a bug or not. Running Android 8, 10/05 security update
-The latest update seems to have broken the LED on Android O. I only ever get a white, quick fishing light now. Was working perfectly for the prior several years!
-Upgraded from the lite version to the full version. The led lights/colors work perfectly on my Galaxy S8. I’m happy to find a led notification program that is compatible with my phone! Definitely worth trying out! You won’t be disappointed! 5 stars all the way!!!!
-I’ve looked a long time for this level of control and customization for notifications. With the new interface updates, even the settings are impressive. Thanks for your hard work, this is easily worth the purchase. In case google is targeting this app over any use of the accessibility API, you can tell them this: I have significant hearing loss so the ability to customize ringtones, vibration patterns, LED patterns and screen wake behavior and all the other things Light Flow does is absolutely critical to my ability to use my Android devices effectively. Until Android has native abilities that match Light Flow, I need
-Worked fine in the past with my Huawei Mate 9 on Nougat. Since the Oreo Update (EMUI 8) Lightflow only triggers sporadically. Even though I have it running in root mode and have granted notification access as well as accessibility.
-Used this on my Nexus 5 for it’s entire lifespan. I just upgraded to the pixel XL and it works perfectly still. Can’t have a phone without it.
-Great app. Tons of features and customization, tons of compatibility options too. One suggestion would be the ability to group notifications into different categories, I.E. a folder for all my individual messenger notifications I’ve set up.
-Not working properly when the ambient display is turned on. Notification lights appear once but once the ambient display is turned on notification lights stops. Please fix this issue.
-Used to be great, got it as soon as I had a phone with a colour led. Unfortunately accidentally Uninstalled and now I can’t get the led to work at all and the notification importance can’t be changed (I had it on low before to reduce real estate usage).
-On nexus 5 work perfectly, now i have Oneplus 5 first thing i download this app and spend 40 min with trying to works but still don’t work. Same suggestions, thanks
-Don’t leave a bad review because you do not understand how things works. 5 stars Dev.
-Any way we can get the app to ignore the (.nomedia) file so that custom notifications can still be visible and configured/set? ATM I’d see all my custom notifications on my Google Play music library if I didn’t have that custom file name in the folder of custom notifications.
-Brilliant app. Tried the trial and never hesitated to purchase the Pro. The price could possibly be increased for the customization it offers. Great app to know what’s awaiting before you unlock.
-If you have a notification light Light Flow can make it much more useful. Works great under android 8 Oreo too.
-How do you set up the audio stream for text to speech to pause the music? Or to use the right stream when Bluetooth is connected but not selected?
-Been using it for years, updates on time, bugs get fixed. Works well.
-Brilliant but need to manually clear notifications at times
-Back to the annoying persistent notification. No way to disable it. 1 star until this is changed. EDIT: Legacy version released, thanks developer! No thanks to Google for the API issue!
-I’ve been using Light Flow for many years now as a very useful way to see what’s waiting at a glance. Hopefully you’ll find it as useful as I have.
-Have had this app installed and running on Nexus S, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 5x and OnePlus 2 and now after the most recent update the OnePlus 5! Awesome app and great support from the dev!
-Edit: Can you add a no root or no ADB option to block certain notifications? Can you make it so when we can archive/disable the notification settings for an app but not have to delete it? That’s been bugging me for a while. Also, can you make it so we can see something for a notification in the notification settings that tells us if the notification has the LED notification enabled or disabled. Maybe like a 🚫 sign over it or something. Also, can you bring back the option to have a notification for SMS/MMS, etc?
-It used to work great on my Nexus 6. With Android 7 upgrade, the light notification do not work, it seems that Android 7 has forced Light Flow to display its notifications in the general area of the phone when you pull down menu from top. Anybody has an idea how to fix this?
-I used this app for a couple of years very well on my Samsung phones. I recently upgraded to OnePlus 3T and it doesn’t work properly. I tried Root and Direct modes and it still is a no go. Would you be so kind to try and see if it can work on this specific phone? Thank you very much!!
-Worked fantastic with my Xperia Z2 although the LED on that wasn’t the best, but still the app has never failed me on my Xperia X! Thank you! Xperia X (Android 7.1.2)
-One of my first installs, love the functionality it adds to my phone. Love that it comes with a sleep mode to turn off the notification at night. The light allows me to see what’s up with my phone with a glance, great for driving.
-someday, hopefully, the dev will make the settings far easier to manage. every time I install this app I have to spend 15 min setting it up. as it is, I would have switched to an alternative if I had one
-I rely on this app more than most. My phone is usually on total mute since I bought it. The assignment of various colors of notification lights is necessary for knowing what I need to pay attention to. Very customizable. I simply set different colors for text, calendar notices, and missed phone calls from family. My Nexus 6P was sadly lacking
-Sadly no longer working on S7 Nougat. For instance WhatsApp showing white notification instead of correct colour, even after disabling led in the app. Was great before. I expect a quick fix when this will get 5* again
-Not sure what happened. Worked great ever since I purchased the app (several phones and Android versions ago,) but after a recent 6P reset, nothing works. Nothing. No notifications, LED colors wrong, everything just went hooey. Kind of bummed. Liked the app, but not idea why everything went to crap. Maybe a recent OS update hates a recent app update? I dunno. I even did *another* reset thinking maybe something went fubar during the first one; only loaded Light Flow Pro and whatever comes standard after a reset. No joy.
-Nougat update has nearly killed this on my S7. Now it constantly locks up, crashes, shows incorrect notifications. Probably not developers fault, but after years of great use, I may have to disable this app.
-if anyone wants to know the value of ignorance then you can see it with this example. it’s 18% or 0.9 points in this case. this app works on 7 devices of mine without issue, totally reliable and is the most configurable in town, which might be the problem for those who are too impatient to learn or incapable. The app clearly deserves 5 stars like not many others. it’s a real pitty though, also in the many xda threads i’m subscribed to, i’ve seen not one complaint which was not based on user error. only short periods with minor bugs were upon API changes and with totally new kinds of lights handling on some devices, but even that were more hours than days until things got resolved. thanks for this tool thanks to which i
-Great app and great customer support. The text to speech is amazing. Guy!, its worth the buy if you want customized notification (sound, speech, light and pretty much everything related to notification.)
-This thing should not be THAT difficult to set up, but I kinda got it working after some tinkering. I guess I’ll be able to get it to do everything I need, but I’m not a total noob and I’m having trouble figuring things out. This is not as simple as advertised.
-It took me 1 hour to make it work in oneplus 3T nougat .. well at least it work .. 1. Turn on led in 3T setting. 2. In led per apps notification .. turn off the app led, that you want to take control by light flow. 3. In light flow input the app and choose the led color .. 4. Restart. No Need Root.
-I’ve been using this app for 5+ years and it’s never missed a beat. Currently using a Nexus 5X with Android 7.1.1 and it’s still working perfectly. Highly recommended.
-It does what it’s supposed to but be forewarned… your battery life is out the door because the app will not let your phone EVER go to sleep!
-This and Power Toggles were my two must have apps for Android, hands down. I had them both since getting my first Android and finding that there wasn’t a native light to tell me of a low battery or when my phone was charging or had finished charging. However, both my other phones and tablets were rooted Google Nexus products on Sprint. Now neither app works on my Marshmallow Asus Zenpad or HTC 10 on Verizon. I don’t know which change broke my favorite apps but I’ve had to uninstall them both. Even tried using the legacy version to no avail. 🙁 For those upset it doesn’t work after installing it, there was a free version you could have tried first.
-Works reasonably on Huawei P9 My favourite utility app; it gives features which should be standard with LEDs. I highly recommend this for anyone pre-Lollipop, especially. The only thing missing from this is the ability to override the system LED calls, a feature I’ve seen in lesser light control apps. Sometimes it just doesn’t work and the system defined lighting takes over.
-This is one of the best most practical and functional apps for my work phone. And its rock solid with ample flexibility for all your notification needs from any app or contact in your contacts list. Reactle helped me through some tough times the last few months with an issue which turned out to be hardware related. Support is there, prompt and to a high standard.
-Please add better support for oneplus 3t I love this app, I use it on every phone I purchase. But I got the oneplus 3t and the notifications stop arriving whenever the phone is restarts or even been on for about a day, my notification tones and vibrations stop occurring, even when it worked on the oneplus 3. Might just need nougat support
-Concept is great but it’s not working correctly on my phone (Galaxy S6) constantly stops, blink at random moments. I tried it for a few hours with different settings and it’s still not working properly! Refunding… Edit: What I can’t even do a refund after a couple of hours?
-Running the Pro version on Android 7.1 (Pixel XL) but why do I have a persistent notification ? Why does my ambient display keep turning on with no notifications other than the Light Flow app ?
-Thank u dev team for this PROFESSIONAL notification centre. Now i am not able to use this marvelous app since it keeps turnin the nexus 6P screen on randomly, what is the fix?
-The latest update greatly improved working on Galaxy S6. One thing I would like to see is an option to set double and triple blinks on notifications — i.e. the led blinks twice or more instead of just once. I think it would help those of us with devices with only a limited set of working led colours.
