Anchor is super simple, which is a pro and a con. They do a lot behind the scenes, which means really fast posting. The app also has a cool process for recording on the go. That being said, the instant something goes wrong or you want to do a task that isn’t “record new,” or “listen to something” it’s a really hard platform to use. For instance, it uploaded two to three copies of each of my episodes when I looked to transfer over. I’ve now got to manually delete 60 episodes. It’s really difficult to sort and manage this older content. Honestly, I’m not sure this is a great “podcast” app, it seems more suited to an audioblog type project.

Good podcast app but as a listener there are a few shortcomings. Firstly the app does not remember where you left off if you close it mid episode. There is no slider on the time to fast forward to get back to your point, it has to be done by the 15sec forward button which is tedious. Secondly if the app is opened and played from background apps the sound does not work for me. Meaning I have to close the app lose my place and and fast forward in 15second increments which is getting very annoying. If the bugs were fixed its a cool concept for a podcast app.

Junk. There’s so much better podcasts apps… Why does it freeze randomly and not let me return to where I left up. Also why can’t I drag the bar to select exactly where I want to listen? No idea how this has 4.5 stats.

IM NOT LIKING THE UPDATE.. I CAN’T CREATE A TOPIC AND TALK TO RANDOM PEOPLE ANYMORE… IT WAS THE BEAUTY OF THE APP TO ME..NOW I CAN’T ACCESS MY MESSAGES… SHEESH.. ALL THESE FACTORS ARE DOING MYB EATING IF THIS APP

I’ve only used it for a short while, but it’s incredible! It’s stupidly easy to work with, and it takes away a lot of misgivings about creating podcasts, so much so that if you have any trouble creating content, you’re wondering whether the fault is with you!

Horrible to navigate. This might be a great app to make a podcast, I really don’t know. I’m here to listen to podcasts and the navigation is awful. The worst. Like really THE WORST. I came here to listen to Casey Neistat’s podcast. That’s it.

I actually like the app my biggest issue is I can’t use it offline (as in record things out and about then edit together into an episode) it all has to have connection and sometimes when I’m on a long car ride I lose connection and the app will crash so I can’t use any of that audio for my episode which sucks

Amazing app. But I have a problem on creating the video. The app is always forced close when transcribing text. Please fix this, you all are amazing, Anchor team!

I’m happy that I can finally ditch SoundCloud and use Anchor as a free distributor for my podcasting. The only negative I have for the App is that it would be nice if there was some kind of analytics feature, so that I don’t have to log into the website everytime.

Is there a way to see when listening to podcasts how much is there left in podcast and how much has passed? And possibly when you close app and return back to continue where you left off? Mabye to rewind more than for 15s, when Ibhave to rewind 30mins it takes forever Huawei p10 plus

Anchor allows me to start a podcast and share it on many platforms. I’m very grateful for this app and cannot wait to see my podcast take off. I have a lot to say and Anchor gives those opinions a voice and a way to share that voice with others! Thank you Anchor!

This app just gave me a confidence boost to have me creating. I didn’t have to wait for expensive equipment to start recording. Love it

Correct me if I’m wrong but I had to swap to another podcast app because anchor doesn’t have a download episode option. So with bad internet I had to revisit episodes but then there is no way to scroll to let’s say 34min and 20sec. Yes there are these buttons to skip 10 seconds but that doesn’t do the trick for me. I would love to use anchor but those two things hold me back

A great app with a lot of features. I’ve found a problem in the speech recognition for creating videos, unfortunately. It does a great job guessing and interpreting your words, but sometimes, it misses large chunks of text. I hope this will be fixed later. Otherwise this app is great!!!

Works nicely. From a listener perspective the intro screen to the podcast is a little odd with the intro and outro titled separately from the body.

Edit: After using the app now for roughly a month I can say that it has gotten better, however it still needs a good amount of work. Things such as a simple indicator to let you know that it is loading when it is having trouble with a slow network connection for example, things as simple as that seem to be omitted and there are times when you tell the app to do something, and it appears to freeze, I’ve now realized this is actually it working and trying to download something over a very busy network. It would be great if some of the simple things like that would be worked out. There are other instances where you would think that clicking on something would do something but it actually doesn’t and you have to click something else that is less obvious. I’ve said this before and they really need somebody who has no idea how to use the application to sit down with whomever designs their UI and show them why it doesn’t make sense. Doing something as simple as that, would allow them to see the obvious things that they are missing in their programming of this app.

Supposed to be able to add music from my spotify. I have a premium spotify account synchronized with anchor but there is no blue music button that they speak of to add.music anywhere to be seen. Customer support not responding to me. I have a updated Samsung a5. Bs app

This is a good app for people who are starting podcasts so they can get use to it and this could be their hobby or job and its funny just did one with some of my friends and it was cool

Anchor is a wonderful app. I’ve been enjoying this app until my last update, when the co host option just disappeared. Kindly look into this please.

When I share my podcasts with my audience via a web link, they complain of not being able to hear anything. What’s the problem?

App User
I would give it 5 but u would like a better skip forward and stuff like that since if I pause it and have it running in the background for a bit I cant replay it just starts the podcast all over again..

So easy even a caveman could do it, Wait! What a great idea! Caveman podcast! Got an idea? This will have you publishing a podcast in less time than it took you to read this review.

marsha maung
It’s easy to create and listen but it somehow lacks a little bit of flexibility. But it’s an amazing app, nonetheless! Thumbs up!

I think this App has some potentional. However, at the moment it is a total disaster. I feel like the idea is to create a “soundcloud” for podcasts, but the app is a lot more focused on producing a podcast rather than just listening. If you look at soundcloud, I bet that less than 10% of the people actually produce music. Therefore, soundcloud is more focused on the users that listen to music and it has come a long way with features, witch make it a nice music app now. If soundcloud would focus as much on producing as anchor does, then it would have to include the features of ableton live for example… haha. Furthermore, anchor is really buggy right now and I am missing some important basic features. But that could easily be fixed. If it is fixed I will change my rating up from 2 stars to 4.

Love the app. Love the freedom it allows you to create. Feels like managing your own little business…if that business were making podcasts. I hit a snag where I recorded three segments that all got deleted and never uploaded. Afraid of making long segments now but overall love the app. Would be nice also if there were more editing options.

Such a great app with a lot of promise. It’s got a few big bugs though which I guess is to be expected on Android. It crashes from time to time for no apparent reason and appears to be recording when you’re speaking, but when you stop the recording it doesn’t seem to have to recorded anything at all. That can be a bit annoying. Either way, I’m still going to be a big fan because I believe voice is the future and apps like Anchor are going to enable that future.

My podcasts aren’t posting. And blank podcasts are being posted on my other pages and i have no way to delete them. I should be able to delete and edit all my podcasts from all platforms but you can even access them. Its really annoying that I’ll record an episode for 20minutes just to post it and nothing has been recorded. Also the cohost sucks. You can only record for about 10minutes and then it stops.

KushKiddBigg
Love the app. 1 problem, it never let’s ne “co-host”.. never connects! So frustrating! Please fix.. doesn’t matter what connection, wifi or network!

DesroyLF
For listening to podcasts its 4/5 many podcasters to listen to..BUT for producing content….it’s a 3 out of 5. I HATE producing content & having it crash or disappear. I like the ease of one button multi-platform posting. Howeverthe crashing needs to stop. 1 hour gone of content…gone. Why isn’t everything recorded saved as a draft? P.s: If you want to back track to a spot the only option is back 15 secs over & over. It’s 2018 guys. C’mon 3/5
